Printing Photos - The Paper You Use Makes a Big Difference We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new line of LD Photo Paper! We've made an effort to provide our customers with the highest quality photo paper available and we think we've found it with our new line of LD Products Photo Paper. If you are familiar with our previous photo paper products, you're probably already satisfied with the great value you've been getting out of our previous brand. If so, you'll be ecstatic to find out that not only have we beaten the quality of our previous line of photo paper but we have obliterated the price as well!
It is time for a little lesson about photo paper quality. There are two major types of coating available in photo paper; cast coated and resin coated. Cast coated paper is made by pressing a polished, hot, metal drum against the paper while it is still wet during processing to give it its high gloss finishing. This technique was used for our previous line of photo paper. It leads to a decent quality paper but for those looking for professional quality may have an issue with the very faint streaking that comes with cast coated paper. This is due to the metal drum rolling over the paper during processing and leaving uneven marks on the surface of the paper. Though these uneven marks are only visible when looking at the glare from a light source, some may not be satisfied with the results. So in comes resin coated.... Resin coated paper is chemically processed to provide its high gloss. It is soaked in a chemical to apply the finishing and the results are a perfectly even coating with no streaking. This process is more closely related to what a professional photographer would go through when processing a photo. Beyond this feature, resin coated paper is also a less sticky, water resistant, smudge-proof photo paper that dries much faster than typical photo paper.
Another exciting part of the new arrival of LD brand Photo Paper is that we have now began to import our paper directly from the manufacturer. So what does this all mean for you? It means you are getting a professional grade photo paper for a fraction of the price. We offer a 20 pack of the photo paper for $5.99 and a 50 pack for $11.99. Compare that to HP or Epson photo paper and we are talking savings of over 50%! You are paying less than half for comparable quality photo paper! Just think about how much these savings increase when you combine the paper with our LD brand inkjet cartridges. We also have new 4x6 sizes available as well as matte and sticker paper. Take a look at our photo paper page to see what new items we have to offer. Now you can print those family pictures and even make copies for everybody without going broke. |

Is Your New Ink Cartridge Not Printing? Customers sometimes call and think their cartridges are empty. This can happen to cartridges with attached printheads such as HP, Lexmark or Dell. All cartridges are weighed and tested before leaving the factory so lack of ink isn't the problem. It usually has to do with the printhead of the cartridge not having any ink to feed it. This happens because cartridges are kept flat or upside down for weeks or months before being used and the ink settles away from the printhead. The easiest remedy is to open the box and stand the cartridge upright for a few minutes before using. Then get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and sit the cartridge printhead down onto it. Hold the cartridge down to the damp paper towel for three minutes. This will help pull the ink out of the print heads, priming them and getting them ready to print. Finally, install the cartridge into your printer and print a few test pages. |

Staples to only Carry HP OEM Cartridges! Staples Office Supply recently announced they will stop selling generic and remanufactured ink and toner cartridges. You might ask why they would do that? Its simple, they want to make more money. HP offered them large back end rebates and marketing money. Since original cartridges cost more only offering OEM cartridges quickly boosts sales numbers even by selling the same number of units. LD Products is committed to offering our customers choices and that is why we offer two to three options for most products. Customers can choose from OEM cartridges, remanufactured or compatible cartridges, and often refill kits. This gives our customers three different ways to save on their printing costs. |
